College Credit

College credit is available for Civic Leadership Academy Students. For attendees who are still in high school, dual enrollment credit is awarded for completion of the program. Dual enrollment credit counts as the equivalent of a high school elective credit and a 3 hour, 2000 level college credit. The Florida Department of Education has approved dual enrollment state wide for the CLA. Students must have an unweighted 3.0 GPA to earn dual enrollment credit.

Civic Leadership Academy students who are graduating seniors will earn 3 college credits through Valencia Community College. The credits, equivalent of a 3 hour, 2000 college class are treated like any other college course. Students who will be attending UCF in the fall have the option of receiving UCF credit that would go toward their UCF GPA.
